SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading the Inventory Group in the areas of materials management, warehousing, shipping & receiving, and people leadership. This position also ensures adherence to processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops project specific material management including warehousing and inventory storage and control strategies.
- Ensures full traceability for client issued and Westerman procured material as well as proper inventory storage and control as per client and supplier specifications and established processes.
- Ensures team maximizes utilization of materials management system.
- Researches ways of utilizing over stock materials.
- Identifies opportunities for cost reduction and/or process & procedure improvement and engages appropriate personnel.
- Offers recommendations and direction in the absence of clearly defined processes and procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators of team and developing solutions to mitigate or eliminate barriers to ensure effective performance.
- Coaches and mentors direct reports to provide materials management support to all people including warehousing, inventory management, shipping & receiving, and systems development.
- Ensures continuous training for all staff and ensures the transfer of knowledge is passed on to each member of the team.
- Forecasts and manages staffing plans to meet shop workload.
- Conducts annual performance management for direct reports including training and career planning.
- Actively supports and participates in Westerman safety program.
- Leads team meetings to provide assistance in resolving issues, review progress reports and ensure assignment of new tasks.
- Maintains open and continuous lines of communication and collaboration with clients, project management and the supply chain management team.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- 5 Years work experience in Material Management or Supply Chain Management required.
- 2 Years supervisory experience required.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to organize material.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication, with the ability to prepare and deliver concise, understandable reports.
- Strong personal computer skills including Microsoft Office and able to learn company software. ERP system (Epicor) experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain productive and team oriented working relationships.
- Planning and inventory management experience is required.
