What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aviation Maintenance Instructor position at Western Nebraska Community College?
Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for a full-time lead instructor in the Aviation Maintenance program at the Sidney, Nebraska Campus.
Responsibilities: Instruct Aviation Maintenance for General, Airframe and Powerplant ratings in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration 14 CFR part 147, updating of curriculum, course scheduling, lab and equipment maintenance. Student advising, placement and other program management duties. Student recruitment and marketing are expected. Faculty sponsor for the student Voc Air club.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of airframe and powerplant maintenance on simple and complex, fixed and rotor wing aircraft.
Minimum degree and experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years industry/military, or associate’s degree plus 5 years industry/military experience; or 10 years industry/military experience. Current Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant certificate. Preference may be given to individuals with an Associate of Applied Science degree in aviation maintenance, FAA Designated Mechanic Examiner, and previous teaching experience.
Salary: Competitive salary with a 175-day contract (summers off), with increases to starting salary given for additional education and industry experience.
