What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist, PRN position at Western Reserve?
Performs procedures involving blood collection, central receiving/specimen handling, and limited technical functions to assist the technologist in performing laboratory analysis.
- Hours: PRN
- Location: Western Reserve Hospital and float to offsite labs to include Hudson, Akron, Stow, Kent, and Tallmadge
- Variable schedule - May include 5:00 am inpatient blood draws
Education and Training
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate in Phlebotomy or as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Six months previous phlebotomy experience AND/OR completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR a Phlebotomy Program.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire and/or transfer.
Experience
Six months previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
