What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian (Office/School Setting, Evening Shift) position at Westmoreland Intermediate Unit?
Westmoreland Intermediate Unit is seeking qualified applicants for a Custodian position (office/school setting, evening shift). The Custodian’s primary responsibility is to promote and maintain the cleanliness of the building and grounds, and provide set up and take down of tables, chairs, etc. for a variety of events. The custodian will use prescribed methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for building and equipment. The custodian will respond to building staff needs to maintain the functioning of the building and its programs, and resolves problems to ensure clean, orderly, efficient and safe operations.
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum Experience: Previous custodial experience is preferred.
The pay rate for this position is $15 per hour. The schedule for this position is primarily 3:00 – 11:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, however flexibility is required to provide winter snow removal and to cover weekend events as needed. The Custodian will primarily serve WIU’s Administration Building and Clairview School in Greensburg.

Additional requirements for this position include Act 34, 114 (federal criminal history) and 151 clearances, Act 126 training, School Personnel Health Record (physical), and negative Tb Test. EOE
