Lead Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis - Westside Lexus
The Lead Analyst, FP&A under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer will participate in growing the financial acumen of the Westlex Corporation and Ascent Automotive affiliates, as requested, (collectively “Westlex”). The Lead Analyst will apply financial planning and analysis skills specifically in the areas of margin analysis, expenses monitoring and control, creating financial decision support for Westlex. The Lead Analyst will lead the business planning process across Westlex. In addition, responsibilities would include preparing and leading the preparation of the financial reporting and analysis to the top executive team.
1. Lead the combine monthly reporting for executive management
- Review monthly financial results of the retail affiliated companies
- Identify any unusual balances, trends, transactions for further research or explanation
- Translate data and analysis into effective written and verbal communication
- Ensure quality, accurate and timely reporting
2. Financial planning, budgeting and analysis
- Assist with the enterprise annual business planning process and provide guidance on budgets for Westlex
- Provide guidance for updated quarterly reforecasting
- Facilitate any capital acquisition requests, as needed
3. Interact with Westlex executive and departmental management on a regular basis to:
- Identify and quantify potential financial benefits of improvement ideas and initiatives
- Assist in the development of performance measurements and other financial tools
- Assist business units in reporting and translating performance measurements so that they can drive changes
- Research and resolve accounting transaction questions and other customer issues
- Coordinate and communicate actions between the Friedkin affiliated companies
4. Be a change agent
- Provide out of the box thinking on solving issues
- Design and implement processes to drive efficiencies and consistency
- Participate with affiliate financial team members in establishing appropriate financial thinking and decision support
- Participate in developing diagnostic analysis specific to Westlex
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferably with a degree in Accounting or with a strong accounting background, plus 7-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CPA and or an MBA preferred

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on large cross-functional projects

- Ability to translate data and analysis into effective written and verbal communication at an executive level (Power BI and other visualization skills preferred)

- Ability to lead and influence
- Able to shift activities, priorities, and approach based on changing demands
- Financial and technical knowledge
- Strong knowledge of accounting required
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge and understanding of planning and ERP systems and data preferred (Oracle EPM Cloud FCCS and Planning, CostPoint)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of government contracting is preferred
