The Security Manager is responsible for holistic security management in their region, to include physical security, crisis management, and technological and operational security design and implementation. The Security Manager interacts with senior WeWork executives as well as community teams in numerous WeWork spaces across the region. WeWork locations and members are our core clients, and one of the largest priorities for this role is enabling new building openings and ensuring the security of established locations. The Security Manager also supports training efforts, project execution, and facilitating meetings with local and federal law enforcement.
The Security Manager will maintain a regular travel schedule to help weave regional and local security management into the safety and security culture. The Security Manager will enable GSS to carry out its core mission statement, which is to secure and safeguard the WeWork member community's passion to succeed while doing what they love.
Core Duties
Advise the General Manager (GM), Director of Operations (DOO) and Directors of Community (DOC) on all safety and security needs
Support new building openings by providing risk assessments, reviewing design drawings, and ensuring physical security concepts and support are enabled for the site
Facilitate the completion of new building-opening checklists, follow up on maintenance schedules
Manage all service requests for site repairs, maintenance, and projects including:
Maintaining service records
Troubleshooting security problems and assessing the need for external service
Managing vendors and schedule service dates
Managing expectations and ensuring timely completion of projects
Conduct routine risk/threat assessments and provide the same to GSS
Develop and maintain a Regional Crisis Management Plan (RCMP) based on the WeWork Core Crisis Management Plan (CCMP). Develop, rehearse and modify all associated security, crisis and emergency plans across the region
In collaboration with the GSS Investigations team, conduct investigations into security incidents at assigned sites - including interviews, camera review, and appropriate documentation
Define, plan, coordinate, drive and execute security upgrades, retrofits, and member requested security projects
Provide regional safety and security training based on GSS requirements
Enforce budgetary compliance as it relates to service at each location
Troubleshoot security problems and assess the need for external service.
Assign access cards to new employees, cleaners and contractors as needed
Schedule dates for service, work reviews and building reviews.
Be available 24/7 for emergency response at selected sites
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience managing security operations in a corporate environment
Solid understanding of all low voltage technology (CCTV, alarms, access control).
Experience designing security for new buildings or facilities, to include placement of access control systems, cameras, and visitor management systems, conducting risk assessments, and standing up security officers
Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP addresses, MAC addresses, VLAN, port assignments).
Demonstrated experience managing large scale projects with multiple deadlines and stakeholders
Experience operating in matrixed environments with global reach
Experience with Helpdesk applications and service management software
Highly proficient in all Microsoft applications; ability to learn and use new platforms
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Beneficial Experience:
Experience with S2 Access Control System
Experience with Zendesk or other Helpdesk applications.
Life safety training (CPR, First Aid, Trauma)
