Although best if you can work hybrid and be in the Portland, Maine office 1x a week, we are open to Remote work within the US.
Performance Profile:
The Ideal candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Utilizing a strong attention to detail, process biweekly payrolls for 4,800 employees across North America, ensuring all payroll deadlines are met, in addition to providing support to employees and managers at all locations regarding payroll and HR related matters.
- Process payroll for Multi-state, multi- tax U.S. payroll and Canadian multi-province payroll using ADP and Workday.
- Serves as liaison to employees and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies.
- Process new hire and terminations.
- Audit employee pay records and reconciliations. Biweekly basis.
- Interpret pay policies and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
- Provide reporting and analysis to partners across the company.
- Verify compliance with federal and state payroll requirements staying current with changes in the law.
- Assist with audits of internal controls, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation.
- Assist managers with employee time and attendance transactions to ensure system accuracy.
- Analyze, verify and input payroll data during processing including but not limited to hours, rates of pay, benefit deductions, tax withholding, etc.
- Calculate and process adjustments to pay (i.e., final pay calculations, retro pay, wage adjustments, commissions, bonuses, etc.)
- Assist with employee liens, garnishments, child support orders as well as employee verifications and employment statistics.
- Provide backup support to other members of the Payroll Department.
- Share supporting Payroll Inbox inquiries with timely response.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School diploma, AA or BS degree in HR, Accounting, Business preferred.
- 3 years in any of the following:
- Human Resources, Payroll, Customer Service roles working in large reports reconciling, or similar work experience involving a high level of confidentiality.
- Working for a company with 500 employees
- Proficient in Excel: Experience with Pivot Tables, V-Look-ups, Formulas, large data sets, loading files into systems, running reports.
- Audit understanding.
- Workday, ADP, Ultipro or similar payroll software experience desired.
- Understanding payroll tax and wage laws is a plus.
- Familiar with reporting, understand pay policies and can explain them, can independently work in various, complex systems is ideal.
Salary : $62,500 - $83,000
