What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Storeroom Supervisor position at Weyerhaeuser?
This position will provide procurement support and storeroom direction to the Philadelphia, MS Lumber manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for coordinating the flow of all materials and services necessary to meet the facilities production and operating needs. The successful candidate is an experienced individual who is highly motivated, a self-starter and capable of working without direct supervision. Procurement activities include purchasing of all material and services and looking for creative ways to reduce cost. Assists with capital equipment purchases. This position will direct and lead the mill storeroom clerk, control and maintain inventory levels and streamline material management processes.
The Materials Supervisor is expected to be a role model of our safety standards and demonstrate on-the-job behaviors consistent with the Company Vison and People Principles. Accountabilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws, and regulations.

- The key functions of the Materials Manager consist of:
- Perform procurement functions for a wide varietyof goods and services utilizing SAP
- Act as liaison between suppliers and company personnel to resolve problems
- Search out new suppliers that provide best overall value to the business based on safety, quality, service, cost
- Provide project and capital procurement support to maintenance & engineering departments
- Overall responsibility for mill storerooms, staff supervision, defining and maintaining inventory levels and disposing of surplus materials and equipment
- Accountable for internal controls such as accounts payable invoice resolution, accruals, and inventory management reporting
- Provide backup support to associates in the Storeroom as needed

- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- 5 years of experience in procurement for manufacturing or industry site(s)
- Ability to operate a forklift
- A strong focus on safety
- Good planning, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities
- Good analytical and negotiating skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Cost conscious and business performance oriented
