Wheels Up is seeking a Software Development Engineer 2 to help us build and scale this revolutionary platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software engineering, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and strong business acumen.
Responsibilities
- Design and build cutting-edge applications using modern technologies
- Own the end-to-end life cycle for the production of software and applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features
- Apply best practices in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Maintain clean code by fixing bugs and improving performance
- Evaluate code for tight security requirements and potential risks
- Lead teams and organizations to deliver on the Wheels Up transformation strategy
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5 years of software development experience with a degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent Problem Solving and Communication Skills
- Experience building software in an agile development environment
- Strong customer obsession and ownership to drive projects and deliver results
- Ability to bring to life designs and mocks to fully functional components, with keen eye on detail
- 5 years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS 3
- Highly proficient in React and deep knowledge of it’s ecosystem
- Expert in Frontend best practices and accesibility
- Experience with most of the following technologies: Typescript, Node, GraphQL, SCSS/SASS, JSON, RESTful APIs, Git, Webpack, Docker, Jest, Karma, Circle CI.
