VP Scheduling & Optimization

Overview

As a VP of Pricing and Schedule Optimization within the Wheels Up Marketplace, you will be responsible for strategy and end-to-end development of technology that optimizes our fleet, assigning reservations and crew to owned, managed and third-party aircraft. Additionally, build services which can power pricing incentives to shape demand in real-time based to maximize fleet efficiency and utility. You will bring full, data-driven automation and visibility of detailed metrics to the process adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements. You will deliver growth on key financial targets set in conjunction with finance, revenue management and member experience. Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap and lead execution of products, services, algorithms that optimize Wheels Up flight operations, scheduling, crewing, maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement through daily, weekly, monthly reporting and rigorous analysis.
• Recruit and develop team. Lead and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate closely with flight operations teams, revenue management, member services and marketing and sales organization to establish WheelsUp as the premiere marketplace for operators and owners.
• Execute rapidly while maintaining a northstar aligned with Wheels Up’s mission and strategies.
• Balance trade offs nimbly across experience, top/bottom line, regulatory risk and platformization.
• Maintain, monitor and measure the performance of launched products and funnel learnings back into product development and innovation.
• Communicate product opportunities, challenges, plans, benefits and results to the appropriate audience at the appropriate time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in software development delivering successful and innovative solutions. Proven ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
• Exceptional level analytical skills, demonstrated experience with machine learning and operational research methods in real-time and at scale.
• Experience and demonstrated success gaining executive alignment to business goals, strategy to achieve goals, and accountability to deliver.
• Strong communication & partnership skills - this will be an extremely cross-functional role, with more than a handful of core stakeholder teams.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and designers to deliver extraordinary products
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a thirst for learning.
• Academic background or equivalent work experience in computer science, data science, statistics, economics or engineering highly preferred
