Job Summary
Responsible for installing and configuring emergency vehicle equipment, such as lighting, sirens, communication systems, and more.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the installation process.
Ensure that all installations adhere to industry safety standards and regulations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work completed.
Keep up to Date about the latest industry trends and technological advancements in emergency vehicle equipment.
Collaborate with other departments to guarantee seamless communication and coordination during the upfitting process.
Provide outstanding customer service and support, including on-site training for clients when necessary.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures for more efficient operations.
Nature and Scope
Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor.
Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude / independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and / or supervisor.

Work Environment
Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and / or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move / lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in vehicle customization or upfitting, specifically for emergency vehicles.
Strong knowledge of emergency vehicle equipment and installation methods.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
