The Computer Operator position provides operational support of all production/test mainframe and PC networked systems. Set controls on computers and other devices, respond accordingly when errors occur and maintain records of job runs. The operation is responsible for backups of the, IBM system, network and SQL network systems. This is significant for disaster recovery purposes. Analyze common issues and take steps to reduce or eliminate them.

What we are looking for

• High School Diploma or GED required;
• Experience and Knowledge of an IBM Mainframe environment;
• Good working knowledge of operation on computer hardware and data communication software, Job Control Language (JCL), and computer system utilities;
• Experience in the processing of Applications on a PC Server environment;
• Ability to understand and adhere to Mainframe/PC Networked Production/test Application procedures;
• Accurately follow detailed instructions;
• Ability to keep track of multiple tasks at once;
• May be required to work irregular and extended hours.

What you will do

• Prepare, submit, and monitor the execution of production, development, and test jobs;
• Perform data communications operations in support of the transmission of data between the facilities within White Castle and outside vendors;
• Detail oriented;
• Follow operator documentation to ensure that computer system and facilities are available when needed;
• Perform systems backup operations as assigned;
• Monitor the inventory of forms and other operational supplies in the storage area and computer room;
• Maintain current knowledge on the operation of computer equipment;
• Maintain a neat and efficient computer room environment;
• Assist users with operational needs, receive production input, perform application checking procedures, and disburse reports;
• May be needed to perform offsite rotation of business recovery items;
• Perform other operations as assigned.
