Certified Surg Tech

WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an ongoing assignment at a state of the art ambulatory surgery center located in Huntingdon Valley, PA. The client specializes in a number of types of surgery, but needs help in the GI department more so than other areas. Any prior GI experience is a big plus, otherwise the client focuses on orthopedic, pain management, ophthalmologic, and plastic surgeries as well.

Job Function

• Maintain proper sterile field during surgical procedures
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation and document according to policy
• Prepare patients for surgery as requested
• Provide technical assistance to surgeons and OR nurses as needed
• Wash and sterilize equipment using proper sterilization techniques
• Operate, adjust, and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation
• Take inventory and order surgical supplies as needed
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• 2 years Surg Tech experience
• 1 years preferred in an ASC environment
• GI surgery experience is a huge bonus, open to any type of surgical experience
