Position Overview:
The Program Manager is responsible for providing the full range of management, leadership, and supervision required for the successful acquisition, performance, and completion of projects.
Majority of the duties will be completed in an office setting and the ideal candidate will be able to remain comfortable in a stationary position. There is a possibility the candidate will be required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Use of computer, which requires extensive eye contact with a video display terminal. The person in this position frequently communicates with employees/vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Travel Demands:
This position requires roughly 15% travel; however, from time to time, and depending on the project, travel needs could change. The position will be physically located in Northern Kentucky/Southern Indiana or Southern South Carolina/Northern Georgia.
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Responsible or managing all phases of proposal preparation, submission and thoroughly reviewing contracts and negotiated changes prior to contract execution to assure awareness of contents and requirements and ability to perform work
- Plan, authorize, prioritize, support, track, and manage projects and initiatives from end-to-end
- Ensure that project cost reporting, revenue reporting, and other financial data are accurate and submitted timely
- Demonstrates safety as a priority, communicates to team; can perform all safety-related job requirements
- Ensure satisfactory performance against budget and company objectives
- Manages tracks, and reports on monthly expenses and subscriber variances; assists in the budgeting process and monthly forecasting
- Assist with preparation for subscriber audits and settling contract/ invoice disputes.
- Continually evaluate opportunities and coordinate negotiations with an emphasis on achieving cost reductions, and adding value to the project
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships across organization to support successful design, implementation, and adoption of new processes and initiatives
- Monitors contractors and provides corrective actions to ensure a quality is conforming to plans and specifications
- Provide weekly status reports to demonstrate current, past, and future workload and completed project lists to ensure timely and effective use of resources
- Recommends policy and procedure improvements
- Monitors project delays, suggests ways to mitigate impacts, and develops workarounds
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in either engineering, architecture or construction preferred but not required. Minimum 7 years construction related experience and/or 5 year's Program Manager or higher management.
- 3 years’ experience using Smartsheets
- Strong background in sustainability and renewable energy
- LEED Certified
- Ability to review and summarization of environmental reports
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present and communicate with individuals at all levels
- Must be proficient with the MS Office Suite and other PM Software
- High level time management and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure in a fast pace environment
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of complex construction projects
- Knowledge of theory, principles, and practices of engineering
- Knowledge of design-build project delivery methodology
- Ability to delegate and manage multiple operations effectively
- Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of project managers, field personal and contractors
