Responsibilities :
- Install, assemble, and align machinery and equipment used in agricultural processing facilities, including conveyors, elevators, grain bins, and milling machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on agricultural equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with machinery, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Perform repairs and replacements of defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop innovative solutions for enhancing equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and hours logged, to maintain accurate records.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, including apprentices and junior millwrights.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in millwrighting or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience working as a millwright in an agricultural or industrial setting, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and processes.
- Ability and willingness to work at heights.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to effectively install and troubleshoot equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose issues and develop effective solutions under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in performing mechanical tasks, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate project deadlines and emergency repairs.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to lift heavy machinery and perform manual labor in various environmental conditions.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
