Responsibilities
What you’ll do
Wieland currently has an immediate opportunity for a Process Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate process flow and align quality requirements in an industrial setting in support of company objectives and customer requirements. This role will reside at our Wieland Copper Products location in Pine Hall, NC.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Learn all machine functions and process flow of assigned area and corresponding quality requirements
- Become subject matter expert for the technical and quality aspects of assigned area, optimize, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures
- Analyze process data, and ensure that data is maintained for future reference
- Identify, design and implement optimization of work flow and quality improvements in assigned area to boost productivity and quality and to eliminate waste in the process
- Lead continuous improvement and implements cost reduction activities
- Develop and deliver training on new and revised SOP to department trainers
- Utilize problem solving and statistical tools to resolve processing and quality issues
- Participate in the development and execution of equipment installation and operational qualifications to achieve process control and capability
Qualifications
What you’ll need
- 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and/or production processes, quality assurance, and Lean Manufacturing experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering preferred)
- Flexible, people oriented and able to work in a team environment
- Possess strong and demonstrated analytical and decision making skills that foster developing creative solutions
- Ability to support operating goals and to execute process improvement projects, including the ability to define, develop, and document requirements
- Experience with project planning, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point required. Access, SQL and Minitab preferred
