The role of Electroplating Engineer:
We are seeking a highly skilled Plating Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of plating processes, including the selection of plating materials, process development, and optimization. The Plating Engineer will also provide technical support to the production team, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions to improve plating performance
Responsibilities
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR ELECTROPLATING ENGINEER:
- Develop and implement plating processes for new products
- Optimize existing copper, copper alloy and other non-ferrous plating processes to improve efficiency and product quality
- Select plating materials and develop appropriate plating solutions
- Provide technical support to the production team for plating-related issues
- Troubleshoot plating problems and develop solutions to improve performance
- Conduct experiments and perform statistical analysis to validate process improvements
- Manage plating lab and analytical equipment relating to surface characterization
- Develop and maintain plating process documentation
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Support site level RD&I and Process Technology initiatives
Qualifications
CORE COMPETIENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELECTROPLATING ENGINEER:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, materials science, extractive metallurgy or related field
- 3 years of experience in plating engineering
- Electroplating and surface finishing (AESF) or Electroplater finishing (CEF) certification a plus
- Strong knowledge of plating processes, materials, and equipment
- Experience with statistical analysis and process control
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge operating and maintaining a scanning electron microscope a plus
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations
