What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at Wil-Ro?
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:
· Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for various truck body fabrication processes to include weld, paint-prep, paint, and installation
· Improve current drawings to ensure quality manufacturing process
· Support production process through all stages -- order to delivery -- to ensure delivery of a premier product
· Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS (Parts, Assemblies, Drawings, CAD-to-CAM, tolerances, sheet metal, weldments, DXFs), with the ability to regularly update truck body drawings
· Determine capacity ratings of new products; understand mechanics of products in order to ensure quality and safety in all aspects of design
· Create work instructions and drawings to satisfy the production schedule
· Provide and develop engineering solutions to address reoccurring quality issues
· Collaborate cross functionally with Sales and Marketing to develop new product offerings and implement new technology
· Work with contractors and maintenance technicians to ensure equipment is operational
· Coordinate with the supply chain leader to optimize material purchasing, inventory management, and material workflows
· Collaborate with the Operations Manager to optimize factory floor layouts, minimize scrap, and reduce fabrication down-time
· Analyze products and fabrication methods to determine areas of improvement and implement lean practices
