What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector - 3rd shift position at Wilco?
Summary: Perform a variety of tests, on hazelnuts, to analyze quality and establish grade levels of product from production lines, to determine if the product meets USDA and company standards
Reports To: Team Leader
Responsibilities
- Sample and inspect hazelnuts for defects and foreign material.
- Correctly identify quality attributes and record those findings.
- Ensures product quality standards are clearly defined and that the finished product quality attributes are within specification
- Notify team leader of findings on a timely basis.
- Work directly with ODA Inspectors.
- Follow HAACP procedures and auditing procedures.
- Follows established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and safety policies while performing job duties.
- Clean work area daily.
- Follow all documented procedures.
- Other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.
Special Skills/Training
- Ability to read, write, and understand English. (Without an interpreter)

- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

Experience/Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Prior food processing experience.
- Prior sorting and QC experience is required.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 25 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Prolonged standing and repetitive bending.
- Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
Working Conditions
- Mostly inside an industrial food grade facility.
- Smock and hairnet (beard net if necessary) are required within the facility.
- Occasional outside work is necessary.
- There is a moderate level of noise while the plant is in production.
