Summary

Summary: The Wild Dunes Resort Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the standards of cleanliness in assigned accommodations are achieved and maintained on a consistent basis to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction in cleanliness and service. The Wild Dunes Resort Housekeeper must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standards. S/he will assist in maintain the AAA Four Diamond Standards.


The Wild Dunes Resort Housekeeper shall always strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests . S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!


Essential job Functions:

  • Maintains cleanliness of resort property.
  • Cleans all accommodations, buildings and corridors
  • Cleans and sanitizes all designated areas to Wild Dunes Resort standards
  • Follows outlined training to assure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Illustrates flexibility in work assignment location
  • Offers positive information and shares information to new Colleagues
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons).
  • Reports all safety incidents to the appropriate party (detailed in training)
  • Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windowpanes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.)
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment
  • Proper care for vacuums, cleaning tools, and all WDR property
  • Proper care for in room items
  • Professionally represents our owners and partners
  • Keeps housekeeping caddy clean, stocked and orderly at all times
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied rooms. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised.
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the housekeeping team
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.

Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior housekeeping/custodial experience mandatory
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • At least one-year customer service experience preferred
Job Requirements:
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read and speak English
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively to the Wild Dunes Standard under tight time frames
  • Must be able to switch pace of work
  • Moving from normal speed to a faster speed or slower speed when needed
  • Must have excellent listening skills
  • Ability to retain information said in morning meetings
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Ability and willingness to work alongside coworkers when requested or needed
  • Must have basic knowledge of chemicals and their uses
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and Colleagues
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the day, with intermittent periods of walking and stair climbing.
  • Must be able to lift 1-10 pounds frequently, up to 35 pounds occasionally and rarely 50 pounds (with assistance).
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally; infrequently climb a ladder
  • Must be able to work in a warm or cold environment, including walking outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat), with exposure to chemicals and dust.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements and simple grasping constantly; pushing & pulling, squeezing and overhead reaching frequently.
