POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Event Sales sells Rawhide Western Town and Event Center space and services for exceptional even experiences by developing and effectively soliciting new sales prospects and former clientele for facility rentals, catering services banquets and sponsorships in accordance with venue business objectives for profitability, sales volume, and penetration of targeted market segments. Also responsible for planning and implementing departmental growth and expansion opportunities and effectively supervising sales staff.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determines annual gross-profit plans by implementing sales strategies, analyzing trends and results.
- Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products/services.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales staff with maintaining relationships with negating and closing deals.
- Prepares and presents regular reports illustrating sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Improves sales programs by developing and implementing field sales action plans.
- Partners with food and beverage, retail, and marketing departments to achieve shared goals and increase sales.
- Maintains sales volume, service offering/product mix, and selling price by monitoring costs, keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
- Oversee management of Hospitality VIP Catering for all properties
- Create invoices and breakdowns for Third Party Vendors for services, goods, and consignments.
- Strives to always exceed expectations by developing and building relationships and partnerships by being attentive, service-oriented, friendly, helpful, and courteous to customers, colleagues, and external partners.
- Contacts prospective and current customers to solicit sales of company products and services.
- Receives customer inquiries, and promptly performs follow up procedures to include providing price quotes, new product/ service information and receiving feedback regarding company products and services.
- Travels to customer locations to present company products, services, and pricing information in a professional manner.
- Monitors progress of account sales toward finalization of arrangements to enhance possibility of securing return business.
- Applies technical knowledge of company products and services to best meet customer needs.
- Maintains appropriate records for the development of sales forecasts for each customer, utilizing company's CRM software.
- Submits appropriate paperwork to management such as expense reports, lead/call reports, sales tracking, and weekly sales plans in accordance with company procedures.
- Works alongside sales staff throughout the work week, and during scheduled events to ensure customer satisfaction and successful event execution.
- Understands and supports company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers and foster the development of long-term business relationships.
- Works with other departments within the organization to assist and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner, notifies management of problems and suggests and implements corrective actions.
- Collects and reports competitive information to management.
- Maintains event space use calendar for internal stakeholders
- Attends training activities and trade shows on behalf of the company to present information regarding company products and services.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Complete any additional duties, although not outlined here, as assigned by the Assistant General Manager of Entertainment, Sports, and Hospitality.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in related area of business management or a closely related field preferred.
- 7 years of progressively responsible position in sales, at least 2 years in a group event or directly related field.
- 2 years of experience supervising sales employees.
- Must possess a valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month violation-free MVR report.
- Must be able to obtain for Tribal operator license driving permit at the time of hire.
- A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs is a requirement of employment.
- Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace as a condition of employment.
