Child Care Assistant

**Opening and closing shifts available** Join our team as a Classroom Assistant! We are expanding and seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual who loves working with children and is passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment for all. As a classroom assistant, you will work in an all-inclusive, diverse workplace, assisting the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged six weeks to 12 years old.

Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and naptime to ensure their safety.
• Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with children, fostering their physical, emotional, and social development.
• Communicate effectively with parents, updating them on their child's progress and any concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup
• Provide support for children with special needs or who require extra attention
• Follow all center and licensing policies and procedures, including those related to safety, health, and hygiene.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or daycare center director.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young children is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and coworkers from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
• Must pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
