JOB SUMMARY
Assists the buffet shift manager with front-of-the-house operations by promoting quality service skills with all buffet staff (servers, bussers, and cashiers).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Promotes exemplary guest service standards through prompt, efficient and friendly service.
- Assists with training and performance monitoring of all buffet servers on F&B standards.
- Promotes restaurant quality and cleanliness at all times, ensuring that table settings, silverware, glassware, table condiments, work stations, seating areas, and overall restaurant environment is maintained.
- Communicates with customers and staff in a professional, guest service friendly manner.
- Assists buffet shift manager as directed with supervision of staff to include performance coaching, and counseling, employee orientation, training and staff scheduling.
- Assumes responsibility for operations in the buffet shift manager's absence as an F&B manager on duty.
- Functions as a working lead, assisting with subordinate’s role as needed: cashier, host/hostess, buffet server and busser.
- Keeps shift manager apprised of customer concerns or employee issues.
- Promotes the goals and objectives of the F&B department as directed.
- Helps maintain a smooth flow in the buffet between guests and staff.
- Promotes a clean, safe and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly addresses hazards and reports concerns to supervisor.
- Complies with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, and safety codes, etc.
- Ensures that operation of equipment, tools, and materials are handled in a safe manner.
- Promotes a positive work environment and assists in building a strong overall team.
- Promotes internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
