Job Summary:
Supervises the coordination and scheduling of inmates/detainees for processing. Oversee fact-finding interviews, fingerprint, and photograph detainees, and prepare routine and special correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and participate in conducting orientation for new detainees on classification procedures, conduct, and unit regulations.
- Coordinates and schedules inmates for diagnostic processing; fingerprint and photograph inmates; conducts fact-finding interviews; prepares routine and special correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
- Coordinate distribution of inmate identification paperwork appropriate for agencies.
- Participates in the planning and execution of an agency program.
- Prepare, interpret, and disseminate information on the agency’s programs and procedures; and responds to routine and non-routine inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Supervises and assists in compiling and analyzing data, in making calculations, and in preparing reports.
- Develops, coordinates, and maintains recordkeeping and filing systems; operates and trains others on the office equipment.
- Supervises the work of assigned staff and provides training and technical assistance.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in correctional custody or law enforcement is preferred.
- Experience in case processing, report writing, and interviewing is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Jailer’s license.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Ability to respond rapidly to potential security and/or medical codes/issues
- Frequent transferring and transporting offenders by walking or riding in various vehicles such as vans, buses, and other forms of transportation
- Continuous periods of operating/driving company vehicles to pick up and transport offenders
- Remaining awake and alert while on duty
- Occasional lifting and carrying
- Ability to occasionally withstand direct or indirect exposure to OC spray
- Exposure to outdoor elements and temperatures
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communication
