Description
Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Dynamics (ME – TD) is a leadership role as the incumbent will be the subject matter expert in Thermal Dynamics. The ME – TD is responsible for the design, development, and testing of new heat exchangers, combustion systems, integrating electro-mechanical systems, and other HVAC components. Design for manufacturing and efficiency is a critical aspect of this position. Other duties include guidance of junior engineers as well as regular customer interaction, developing project plans, and meetings with regulatory agencies (UL, CSA, & AHRI).
Essential Job Functions:
The R&D Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Dynamics will have several Roles and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
· Perform detailed engineering analysis and design for assigned projects, using judgment in developing and evaluating alternatives on moderately complex assignments; develop plans and specifications; provide technical direction to other engineers.
· Experience with Thermal dynamics, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, electro-mechanical systems.
· Perform Project Manager duties for projects including: determining project scope, establishing schedules and assigning project staff, processing appropriate paperwork, and other duties as required to ensure quality and profitability; may participate in sales presentations.
· Organize, draft and coordinate production of assigned sections of various reports and drawings to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
· Responsible for product development projects.
· Develop product specifications; perform engineering calculations and analyses; test components and assemblies for compliance with standards.
· Perform and ensure that all work is in accordance with all safety procedures.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
· A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
· Minimum of 5 years’ technical, mechanical engineering experience.
· Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills.
· Self-motivated, flexible, and a team player.
· Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
· Available for international travel.
