JOB SUMMARY
This person is responsible, working with the Securities & Financial Services Client Development Director and Manager, for a wide variety of client development initiatives of the firm’s Securities & Financial Services Department, including the execution of pitch materials, presentations, responses to requests for proposal (RFP), research, content administration, marketing communications, events, sponsorships and general practice group coordination.
The Client Development Specialist is responsible for developing technical understanding of clients and industries served by Securities & Financial Services practice groups to help proactively spot burgeoning issues and business trends, leading to identification of client development opportunities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:
Supports efforts in preparing sophisticated, thoughtful, and persuasive pitches, including RFP responses. Works to coordinate these responses, including development of and adherence to timelines, coordination of administrative elements, and review of substantive content for quality assurance and consistency. Assists in the oversight of management of the proposal response process for the Securities & Financial Services Department. At times, may lead the firm’s response to particular pitches.
Supports client development strategies by monitoring news-intelligence sources and conducting in-depth research and analysis of companies, industries, marketplaces and competitors; develop insights and communicates recommendations and applicable information.
Supports the planning and execution of firm events, sponsorships, conferences, and client entertainment and receptions. At times, may lead the planning of particular events.
Coordinates the full lifecycle of steps related to market recognition efforts, including overseeing the development of legal directory submissions (Chambers USA, Legal 500, etc.)
Supports the activities related to onboarding lateral and/or new partners, including but not limited to, executing individual client development plans and preparing lateral partner for client meetings through research deliverables.
Supports the Client Development Subject Matter Expert (SME) Director and Manager to continuously improve established Client Development research deliverable processes, including but not limited to maintaining process documents and assisting with providing guidance to colleagues on best practices in this area.
Act as liaison to other client development department service areas to execute marketing communications related activities, including but not limited to planning client seminars/webinars, client alerts and similar activities and drive follow-up on all efforts to achieve positive results.
Performs special projects as requested by Client Development leadership team.
Contributes to the firm's Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.
