We are excited to share the opportunity for a Cable Technician to join our team and look forward to reviewing your resume.

As a Cable Technician, you will contribute the team by working on data/telecommunications projects as part of a team.

Your experience in the following areas will drive your success in this role.

  • Demonstrating your abilities as a capable and competent lead on cabling projects
  • Your previous experience working on Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Intercom, IP Surveillance, and Energy Management systems
  • Ability to identify and develop field engineer pathways for cable installation
  • Performing certification testing of copper cable using proper testing equipment
  • Performing testing of fiber optic single and multimode cable using light source power meter
  • Identifying active circuits in abandoned cable and implements cutovers
  • Documenting test results and as-builts, completes daily reports, job log, and other project paperwork and documentation
  • Ordering and inventories materials
  • BICSI Certification is preferred
  • Manufacturer certifications are a plus
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements

Work requires exposure to construction site environments having temperature extremes, dust, fumes, smoke, hazardous substances, and loud noise levels. Up to 70% of the job may include heavy physical work, heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of material that may weigh from 50 to 100 pounds. The position requires the incumbent to climb and work from ladders, scaffolds or aerial lifts, stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, crawl and work in awkward positions or confined spaces for several hours at a time.

The position requires the unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, and the upper and lower back as well as visual acuity and depth perception. Pulmonary capacity must be sufficient to permit the use of an air-purifying respirator if required.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
