What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver for Elderly/Part-time position at Wilson Household?
We are looking for a competent part-time Caregiver/sitter to care for my aging parents in professional and compassionate manner. Need someone who can work evenings and some weekends. The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with good communication skills. My parents are ambulatory but are at fall-risk.
Responsibilities
- Make sure parents take prescribed medications
- Be on-site with parents in case of a health emergency
- Assist parents with personal care as needed
- Light meal prep and serve meals
- Perform light housekeeping duties like loading dishwasher
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Skills
- Proven experience as a caregiver
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- High school diploma or equivalent
