Daikin Applied is looking for an Associate Account Representative to join our team! This role is slated to start in June 2023.
In the Associate Account Representative role, you will attend Daikin Applied’s College of Sales training program to learn how to be a successful salesperson on our Service Sales team. You will receive top-notch training virtually and in person to learn how to win and maintain great customer relationships in order to sell preventative maintenance contracts, service and repair work on commercial HVAC equipment, retrofits/upgrades, turnkey, and major projects.
This training program will be both virtually and remote, requiring travel at times for in-person training. When not traveling for training, you will be working in your local territory, being mentored and trained by highly-skilled sales people. The travel for this program could be up to 50% of your first 9 months in your role. When training and selling locally, you will also travel within your territory.

What you will do:
- Attend and successfully graduate from the sales training program.
- Apply and effectively communicate sales and technical learnings in customer meetings, customer follow up, and daily sales activities. Effectively utilizes available resources and requests assistance as needed.
- Build strong relationships with critical program and field leaders, mentors, peers, and support staff.
- Work with mentor to effectively:
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from Daikin Applied installed equipment database, industry sources, business directories, vertical market information, or any other lead generation source.
- Call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, build customer relationships and follow up on customer concerns.
- Prepare cost estimates and price quotations on new work and coordinates the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations. Verify and quotes prices, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Perform tests and conduct surveys on competitive products in order to determine the need for product alterations or the development of new products.
- Prepare reports of pipeline, sales activity, and business plans.
- Identify and implement tools and resources to assist in sales efforts (e.g., energy rebates, estimated payoffs, ROI).
- Travel regularly in the first 12 months for program and training. Travel local territory while working in field with sales mentor.
- Travel daily in local assigned territory after program conclusion.
Qualifications:
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, communications, or related field
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Mechanical/technical aptitude/ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to travel regularly during program and in local territory while working with sales mentor
- Ability to travel locally on daily basis after program conclusion
Nice to have:
- Emphasis, certificate, or minor in sales
- Previous internship or work experience in sales and/or customer service
- Experience with Salesforce or any other sales tracking software
