Job Position: Engineering Intern

Department: Engineering- Corporate

Supervisor’s Title: VP of Engineering & R&D

Job Summary:

Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship. Engages with customers or clients and provides service and/or sales. Provide suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes. The Engineering Intern will be part of all aspects of various engineering projects including, but not limited to, front end feasibility analysis, equipment specification and design, equipment sourcing, process development, equipment installation and commissioning, and equipment turnover to operations after meeting project success criteria.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Support project scope for assigned projects, including equipment specifications, plant layout, manufacturing process flow, technology selection, equipment design and equipment sourcing.
2. Complete Best Value Options Analysis when considering design options for a new project in order to evaluate new design, off-the-shelf and hybrid solutions for assigned projects.
3. Support project construction, installation and commissioning activities for assigned projects.
4. Provide support to manufacturing plants for assigned technologies and projects. Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by plant engineering and manufacturing team members for areas within his/her expertise domain.
5. Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
6. Execute assigned research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes.
7. Communicate and collaborate with other Engineers, suppliers, and contractors.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Continuous Improvement: Always drives to improve skills including, but not limited to: manufacturing best-work-practices, Operation efficiency, Project Management, Technical, Internal Systems / Databases, etc. and the ability to adapt as production conditions warrant.
• Technical Mastery: Proficient with manufacturing processes; experience with continuous manufacturing processes; proficient using CAD software; knowledge of machine controls and process automation; knowledge of plant utility systems (compresses air, boilers, dryers, environmental control systems).
• Collaborate and Coordinate: Demonstrates an ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with other department personnel and internal support. This includes utilizing all WinCup resources at your disposal to effectively handle production issues and support.
• Communication: Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, business writing, grammar and verbal communication skills.
• Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills: Must be detail oriented, a team player and highly deadline driven.

• Working towards Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.
• Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects on track.
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
• Interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to distill complicated topics into simpler components.
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Must have advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• This position could require up to 30% business travel.
