RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows established meal service standards in a timely manner, including meal set-up, flow of service, order taking, busing, and side work
- Ensures that food/beverages are being served at the appropriate time and temperature
- Replenishes condiments necessary for meal service
- Prepares food for the salad bar in a safe and attractive manner as directed
- Maintains the highest quality of safety, sanitation, food preparation, and food service techniques
- Reports equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor
- Service of food and drink to residents in proper “fine dining” fashion.
- Provide Server duties for catering functions and in the Main Dining Room, and Bistro as needed.
- Responsible for cleanliness, sanitation and restocking of all dishes, glassware, silverware, pots/pans, trays, and other utensils used in the food service program.
- Responsible for scrubbing, mopping or vacuuming service areas and floors as needed.
- Assist in all aspects of service to the residents, receiving direction from the Dining Room Supervisor and Dining Room Manager
- Prepare, cook, and serve food as needed for Residents strictly according to all Dining policies, menus, diet orders, diet manual, and Certified Dietary Manager requirements
- Provide Server duties for Healthcare and Assisted Living as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience waiting tables or in institutional food service preferred
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and a get-it-done work ethic a must
- Able to follow spoken and written instructions in English
- Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- Able to work a variable and flexible schedule
- Genuine desire to work with the elderly
- An up-beat and engaging personality
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push, pull, bend, kneel, and stand as needed
- Willingness to obtain Food Handlers License
- Willingness to obtain Heimlich maneuver certification
- Must be able to tolerate temperatures in kitchen and workplace conditions to include exposure to heat and cold.
