What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Analyst position at Windstream Communications?
Position Summary: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for ensuring that Windstream facilities and operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements in the areas of environment, employee safety, and transportation safety. This position will primarily support Safety functions within an assigned region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain documentation related to safety matters
- Conduct Incident Investigations for lost time injuries
- Assist with PPE compliance requirements
- Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, industry, and company requirements (OSHA, EPA, DOT)
- Comfortable presenting material to small groups in person, on the phone, and via web conference
- Pursue continuous improvement in safety monitoring and recordkeeping / data management systems to ensure regulatory compliance
- Experience with hazard analysis, risk mitigation, behavioral analysis preferred
- Compile, analyze, and interpret accident and incident data
- Ensure all permits, certificates, licenses, and invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner
- Conduct on-site facility audits/inspections in support of EH&S compliance requirements
- Participate in the annual review, revision, and submission of EPA Tier II Reports and Emergency Response
- Perform other duties as required
Occasional Travel Required (30%)
Desired Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Safety and Health, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in EH&S field
- Experience supporting Safety functions for a telecommunications company or utility with multiple locations
Desired Skills:
Excellent Communication Skills – both verbal and written
Strong PC skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to prioritize
Strong attention to detail

Salary : $43,500 - $53,800
