We are looking for a qualified person to help at our Winery in Petaluma, California. We are a small, award-winning, artisan winery in Petaluma, California. We make outstanding wine and need the perfect someone to round out our team. Knowledge and love of wine are preferred.
This position will grow in responsibility for the right individual, from working in the tasting room to generating leads by visiting restaurants to closing sales with distributors and making corporate contacts for events. Sales Associate Duties and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our artisan wines, and recommend the right product. You should have the ability to work with our social media platforms to generate on-line customers and club members and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a wine connoisseur, you should stay up-to-date with wine features and maintain and shares our winery's vision in high standards. Ultimately, a winery associates' duties are to achieve excellent customer service while consistently meeting the winery's sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high levels of customer and club members satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- Welcome members and clients to the tasting room and answer their queries
- Follow and achieve the goals of wineries on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- "Go the extra mile" on social media to generate more sales.
- Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
- Actively seek out customers in the tasting room.
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Process Point of Sale purchases
- Cross-sell products
- Handle returns of merchandise
- Team up with co-workers to special events for customer service
- Build productive trust relationships with clients
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g., planning marketing activities, changing the store's)
Skills
- Proven work experience as a wine sales connoisseur or similar role
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Proficiency in English
- Knowledge of wine and be able to give descriptions of the wines and services via phone and email
- Working knowledge of wine club membership and market dynamics and requirements
- Track record of over-achieving sales quota
- Hands-on experience with social media marketing and POS transactions
- Familiarity with inventory procedures
- Wine sales managements and Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly and energetic personality with clients and club members focus
- Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints on time
- Availability to work flexible shifts
- High school degree; BS degree in Marketing or related field would be a plus
