General Job Description
This role is very important to Wineshipping's growth. This is not a "run the warehouse" position, but a great balance of strategy and execution. The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operations of our flagship facility, including improving efficiency and network performance while managing a diverse team. The General Manager will lead a strong team of Operations Managers to achieve operational excellence. We are growing tremendously, and we need top talent to help us scale to our ever-increasing and awesome client group. Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Keep your team safe. Hold a high standard for safe work methods and make sure every person on our team goes home in the same shape they came to work.
- Provide great leadership to our teams. We teach leadership at Wineshipping. Help us develop the greatest leadership team in the industry. Listen to employees, accept criticism and feedback, and make adjustments to drive employee engagement.
- Manage real-time logistics operations. This includes maximizing our resources (people and capital equipment) to delight our clients, optimize productivity, deliver reliable on-time performance, and achieve our enterprise goals.
- Monitor efficiency and accuracy using standard operating plan metrics or create new ones to meet external and internal performance goals.
- Prepare an annual budget, plan out expenses, analyze variances, and make necessary corrections to achieve target goals for financial performance.
- Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service to internal and external clients.
- Hold our teams accountable for following our Standard Operating Procedures. Help us make our SOPs even better.
- Be proactive with existing accounts: ensure client forecasting is provided, schedule recurring business reviews and provide analysis/metrics. Schedules regularly occurring meetings and calls with clients. You will have exposure to our clients, in meetings and business review sessions - you are a big part of the value we provide them.
- Keep our client's products and our facilities secure. Everyone is responsible for safety and security at Wineshipping, but you have a front-line role in making this happen. You will receive a lot of support while you do this.
- "Other duties as assigned" - but not all of them are hard. Sometimes, you get to give people wine. They like that.
Qualifications For The Job
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 2 years recognized fulfillment experience with setting warehouse KPIs and tracking employee performance against company benchmarks.
- 5 years management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment with direct reports
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
- Must possess knowledge of a Warehouse Management System, Order Management System. The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience with Microsoft’s D365 Finance & Operations. Knowledge and experience with hand-held devices are a plus.
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to speak and write in Spanish is a plus.

- Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs.

Supplemental Pay: You will be eligible to participate in a line-of-sight bonus plan, tied to the results of your facility and your teams. It's well within your control.
