PROJECT DEVELOPER
Winston Brown has been the premier residential remodeler in Topeka, Lawrence and Kansas City for more than 40 years. We are currently looking for an experienced project manager to add to our skilled and knowledgeable team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple jobsites simultaneously.
- Must possess great communication (verbal and written) skills and have the ability to communicate with our clients regarding their project on a daily basis.
- Capable of performing most trades in residential construction and has ability to work with electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems safely.
- Solve technical problems as they arise on projects.
- Work with Project Coordinator to update schedules based on daily or weekly progress.
- Attend and/or conduct team meetings as needed to communicate with field and office staff.
- Complete employee reviews, mentor and train employees in all aspects of job duties.
- Field supervision and coordination.Responsible for managing field workers.
Responsible for creating and enforcing jobsite work hours, company policies and standards of conduct of both employees and subcontractors.
Responsible for verification of employee timecards.
- Verify quality of completed work. Responsible for determining if self-performed or subcontractor work is complete prior to inspections or disbursements of payments.
- Subcontractor and Vendor evaluation- Responsible for providing feedback to Project Coordinator regarding quality and service provided by vendors and subs.
- Perform field work as needed to keep jobs on schedule.
- Site coordination-Responsible for coordinating access and logistics for subcontractors, material deliveries, etc.
- Job signs/permits, placards, etc… Is responsible for making sure job signage and permits are displayed in accordance with regulatory agencies and/or company policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Detailed understanding of the entire remodeling process from initial sales meeting through final warranty administration
- Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of trades, vendors, employees, customers and regulatory agencies
- Extensive knowledge of building codes and other regulatory requirements
- Extensive knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work.
- Proficient in operation of a personal computer. Must be able to work in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
- Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- AS NEEDED - Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Education, Training and Experience
- 5 years of construction industry experience or equivalent field and classroom background.
- High school or equivalent (required)
