Spa Manager

Position Summary:
The Spa Manager provides leadership, direction and supervision to staff in the daily operation of the Spa, including, but not limited to, retail, salon, and yoga/fitness programs. Oversees the coordination of all guests’ requests, is directly involved in budgeting, forecasting, payroll and scheduling as well as product inventory and ordering. Also staffs and oversees the Aquatics and Fitness Center in cooperation with the Director of Ski Operations and the General Manager.
Job Specific Duties:
SAFETY

• Follow safety policies and procedures that help to prevent harm to associates, guests, and members; conduct daily safety meetings with staff to encourage our safety culture

LEADERSHIP

• Direct supervision of the following positions: Spa Assistant Manager, Massage Therapist, Nail Technician, Desk Associate, Esthetician, Fitness Class Instructor
• Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training and performance management for the above positions
• Oversees the execution of all company policies and procedures for the Spa

FISCAL

• Reviews staff schedules and payroll results of the Spa to minimize overtime and stay within budgeted labor.
• Compiles annual budgets for the Spa
• Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.

TECHNICAL

• Oversee daily Spa operations – booking group appointments, linen control, guest issues, Yoga/fitness programs, cleanliness of the facility
• Organize events at the Spa to drive revenue and Member engagement
• Partners with the Marketing department to develop effective marketing strategies for the Spa
• Purchases all products for the Spa and Aquatics and Fitness Center, through approved Accounting procedures. Conduct inventory regularly.
• Takes on special projects or assists with ongoing projects as required.

Position Type*:
This is a full-time, annual exempt position. The position does not have regular hours and will require the incumbent to work nights and/or weekends, especially during busy season.
Qualifications:

• Excellent oral & written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Must possess strong customer service abilities
• Ability to build and retain relationships
• Possess strong leadership skills
• Four-year college degree in a related field is highly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities
• At least eight years of experience in a Spa environment; at least three years of management experience
• Present a neat and positive image along with a professional appearance
• Possess problem solving skills
• Utilize computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Springer Miller, Yellow Dog, Kronos
• Be innovative and easily adapt to change

Physical Requirements*:
Required to sit and stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, reach, lift, push/pull and walk. Repetitive typing requiring use of hands, wrists and fingers. Prolonged use of computer screen and telephone to complete tasks. Occasional lifting of objects of 30 pounds or more.
