Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Raymond, OH (Oniste)
BS Degree in ME. Design Engineer with over 8 years of engineering experience in actual creation of required components per specialty (concept, specification setting and layout creation and negotiation capability).
Strong CAD experience working with CATIA V5 or V6.
Expertise in handling Seating and HVAC system designs.
Expertise in handling Plastic Interior trims ( IP, Door Trims, Roof Lining, Console etc)
A critical element of the role is the resolution of difficult feasibility issues therefore the ability to work in a cross-functional team is key.
Owns Trim Drawing, BOM (Pattern List), Sewing Specifications, and Process Control Points with commitment to on-time release.
Ability to create technical solutions to Design challenges.
Experience in scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned products and systems.
Broad understanding of exterior and interior lighting systems, instrument panel, console & door trim construction.
Experience and knowledge of automotive trim processes: foaming, molding, cutting, sewing, and assembly processes.
Analyzes components/parts in area of specialty to ensure that established layout/quality/cost/performance standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded
Expertise in recommending cost-effective design modifications/improvements that support testing and mass production.
Drive projects with full responsibility, act as Window person to coordinate with Design/CAE teams, Suppliers and Offshore teams
Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric dimensioning & tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience working directly on Honda projects would be preferred
