We are seeking a skilled and experienced Screed Operator to join our team. As a Screed Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating screed controls to achieve the desired depth, grade, and finished cross-section of the asphalt material. This position requires expertise and is not an entry-level role. Additionally, there may be occasions when you will be required to perform as an assistant foreman to support the team.
Key Duties:
- Primary Operator: Serve as the primary operator on an asphalt paver, responsible for adjusting the screed extensions to achieve the proper depth, grade, and finished cross section of the asphalt material.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other crew members to apply asphalt according to plan specifications. Additionally, you may be assigned tasks from other crew positions as instructed by the foreman to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to all corporate policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any problems or issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager promptly.
- Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility in accommodating schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes as required. Overtime work and out-of-town assignments may be necessary.
- Traffic Control and Safety: Follow Traffic Control instructions and adhere to safety standards as outlined by the Company and ATTSA Safety Policy requirements.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Comply with the PPE policy and ensure individual PPE is in functional condition as provided by the company.
Primary Duties:
- Ensure the equipment spreads material to appropriate specifications.
- Assist in flagging traffic.
- Load and unload materials.
- Shovel dirt, gravel, and asphalt.
- Perform general cleanup around the job site.
- Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure the machine is working properly.
- Conduct daily maintenance checks.
- Properly store all tools at the end of each shift.
- Immediately notify the department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues.
- Follow processes and procedures accurately.
- Wear appropriate clothing, shoes, and personal protective equipment.
Secondary Duties:
- Perform any other duties assigned or required.

The posted salary or pay compensation ranges are approximate and dependent on applicable experience and qualifications. Upper ranges are flexible.
