Responsibilities

Mission and Scope:

The Senior Accountant’s primary focuses are the month-end close process, preparation of monthly reconciliations and/or ad hoc analysis for accounts receivable, accrued expenses, accounts payable and intercompany and corporate allocations. The person will ideally bring technical accounting knowledge to include GL Management, Financial Statements, and Balance Sheet and Key Control Account Reconciliations. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and must provide exceptional customer service to internal departments, vendors, and external customers.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

-Prepare assigned journal entries accurately, on-time and in compliance with GAAP to support the month end close process.-Prepare monthly reconciliations accurately and on-time; resolve reconciling items the next month at the latest. Maintain documentation to support the reconciliation.-Lead the monthly Cost Center review process for assigned departments.-Prepare financial analysis for various internal and external reporting requirements as required.-Assist other accounting team members to accomplish department goals and objectives.-Support management efforts to establish appropriate internal controls and assist in implementation of new policies and procedures.-Provide support for ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.-CPA and/or public accounting background strongly preferred.-Minimum of 4 or more years of accounting experience, and a firm understanding of GAAP.-Experience with an ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills.-Detail oriented with a priority of accuracy.-Excellent verbal and written communications using tact and courtesy.-Good organizational skills with a proactive and positive attitude.-Ability to work well in an interactive team environment.-Ability to work cross functionally to help develop best practices.-Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and successfully with people at all levels.-Advanced time management and prioritization skills.
