Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

ExemptJob Role Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the effective and efficient operation of his/her respective assigned shops. These shops include: plumbing, refrigeration, operations center, maintenance and finish shops, both located on the main hospital campus or within off site buildings.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules and supervises all maintenance activities of assigned shops
- Supervises the activities of the assigned staff and contractors and ensures work is performed properly, timely and efficiently
- Identifies work required for other specialties and contractors, plans accordingly with responsible supervisor
- Responsible for training, evaluating and disciplining assigned staff.
- Interviews and recommends hiring of new employees or promotion of staff
- Supervises the planning and scheduling of the following work: preventive maintenance, repair, minor renovation projects and alignment of assigned group's equipment
- Serves as FES Supervisor-On-Call as per rotation schedule
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) plus the ability to read, write and follow written instructions related to position
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in field of expertise
- Valid Indiana Operators License required
- Must possess a HVAC license if supervising the Refrigeration staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of materials and equipment suited for the work
- Normal color vision required
- Ability to work from blueprints, plans, ladders, and scaffolds
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Must be mechanically inclined to repair machinery assigned to staff
- Knowledge of Joint Commission and State Board of Health regulations
- Must be able to estimate square footage and figure amounts of materials for jobs
- Must have organizational abilities in order to schedule projects of various size and complexity
- Good judgment required
- Knowledge of construction materials, building codes, fire codes and OSHA regulations
