Electrical Engineer, Vehicle Integration

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Electrical Engineer to join our Watertown-based Engineering team to develop next generation wireless charging products for the electric vehicle industry. The candidate will work within our vehicle upgrade team where we are upgrading existing Electric Vehicles with wireless charging capability.  The individual will support updates to existing designs, develop new designs, and provides hands on lab support for vehicles being upgraded in our lab.  The person will be involved throughout the product lifecycle including engineering development, pre-production prototypes, and field trails. The candidate should be comfortable working in a small, energetic team and be flexible to adapt as product and market demands evolve.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the electrical design & maintenance throughout the hardware platform product life cycle.  This includes supporting existing designs as well as new design creation.   May include electrical circuit design & component placement, layout and prototyping.
• Organize and perform prototyping efforts, direct and coordinate in-house and external prototype fabrication efforts.
• Responsible for the EE design documentation update, writing test reports and carry out qualification test.
• Communicate/collaborate with various team members, both verbal and written, on technical issues and provide technical support to customers.
• Work closely with Project leader to complete the other task assigned by project leader

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in power electronics, electrical automation, measurement, and control
• Minimum 3 years with digital electronics design: microprocessor, embedded processors, memory devices, communications interfaces, audio/video digital interfaces.
• Minimum 2 years working in power electronics design and R&D or advanced development projects.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Testing (DFT), and Compliance best practices
• Familiar with the design principles of vehicle charging piles, and have experience in schematic design, PCB layout, PFC product, EMC and safety regulations
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must have worked successfully within a multi-discipline environment and possess outstanding collaboration skills.
• Experience with automotive application preferred.
