The Cook will prepare and serve food and is responsible for cleaning of kitchen, dining, preparation, serving and food storage areas.
About the role:
- Preparation and serving of food to clients and staff.
- Operation of kitchen equipment including: stoves, ovens, serving equipment, dishwasher and garbage disposal.
- Clean/organization of all equipment in kitchen such as: refrigerators, freezers, storage areas and tables and chairs in dining area.
- Sweep and mop floors of kitchen and storage room and serving areas.
- Rotate and stock shelves.
- Offer receipts to donors
- Record donations on In-Kind list
- Empty trash
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education: Education or experience cooking for large groups.
Certifications: Must complete 4 hours of food safety program, annually and be Food Manager/Serv Safe certified. If not currently certified, must obtain certification within first six months of signing this position description. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with clearance by the Salvation Army’s insurance carrier required. May operate motor vehicles in the execution of some essential functions if approved to drive.
