Your Impact:
At WNA Engineering, the ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and possess a strong focus in construction and Plumbing/Fire Protection design to effectively understand how to execute our vision and mission. Serving as the Plumbing & Fire Protection Design Engineer, you will be an asset in supporting the design of a variety of projects from the many industries we serve. The Plumbing & Fire Protection Design Engineer will report directly to the Plumbing & Fire Protection Team Manager.
Plumbing Design Engineer Priorities:
- Design Plumbing/Fire Protection Systems on a variety of projects under the supervision of the Project Engineers and Firm Principals.
- Develop, prepare, and coordinate designs/drawings needed for plumbing/fire protection systems per applicable standards and codes
- Prepare plumbing/fire protection specifications.
- Attend meetings, conduct field surveys, and prepare technical reports.
- Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects.
- Review and coordinate vendor shop drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Assist in project time budgeting and prepare project cost budgets.
- Collaborate with entire design team.
- Directly interface with clients.
- Contribute to the overall business development of the company
What you need:
- Minimum Associates or Technical Degree in Engineering, Construction or similar, or in lieu of a degree: Equivalent Practical work experience plus the relevant work experience requirement;
- Required 4-10 years designing Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for MEP building construction
- Proven project design experience from design phase through final construction
- Demonstrated knowledge of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems
- Experience working with Water/Sewer Authorities and Local Municipalities
- Knowledge of building and energy codes
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit applications
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and time management skills
- High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and honesty with one's abilities
- High level critical thinking skills and desire to take on challenges
- PE or EIT preferred; CPDT, CPD, or GPD certifications a plus
- Minimal travel availability when necessary
