The Davis School of Business at Colorado Mesa University is seeking candidates for the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor of Operations Management (non-tenure track) or Assistant Professor of Operations Management (tenure track). Applicants should possess current experience and knowledge of operations throughout numerous industries and be able to convey contemporary trends within business that are focused on process improvement, demand forecasting, inventory controls, and supply chain management. This position is full-time, starting August 2025. As a member of the Davis School of Business, you will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate management courses including Operations Management. The operations management class serves as one of two capstone courses (strategy being the other) within the BBA program and is taught in a hands-on, practical manner, emphasizing real-world application rather than purely data analytics.
Colorado Mesa University (CMU) is a state-funded institution that emphasizes quality teaching and research, having embraced the teacher-scholar model. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; courses are delivered on-campus, online, and in hybrid formats, with a primary focus on in-person learning on a dynamic residential campus. In addition to teaching, candidates are expected to be actively engaged in scholarship within their discipline, student advising, and service at both the school and university levels.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
• For Assistant Professor candidates, a terminal degree (PhD or DBA) in Operations Management or related discipline with significant coursework (at least 18 graduate credit hours) in Operations Management. ABD with a dissertation defense date and completion of all degree requirements on or before August 2025 will be considered.
• For Assistant Clinical Professor candidates, a Master’s degree in Management, MBA, or closely related field with significant work experience in operations management, process improvement, demand forecasting, inventory controls, and supply chain management.
• Demonstrated potential for exceptional teaching performance with a focus on practical application.
• Commitment to best practices in instruction, student advising/mentoring, and curriculum development.
• Demonstrated dedication to advancing a research agenda and producing scholarly work relevant to operations management.
• Evidence of active involvement in institutional, community, and/or professional activities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of business industry experience is strongly preferred, given our hands-on, application-oriented approach in the classroom.
• Experience teaching college-level Operations Management courses beyond student teaching.
