Qualifications:
- Highly qualified School Psychologist, Social Worker or School Counselor
- Minimum of five years successful work experience with "at risk" and/or "behaviorally challenged" students was an important responsibility for the position
- Expert knowledge on the multi-tiered system of behavior supports
- Training and experience in circle keeping, restorative practices, trauma informed care, and conflict resolution
- Demonstrate knowledge of function-based intervention planning for advising the development of behavior change strategies that focuses on reducing problem behavior and increasing more appropriate behavior.
- Demonstrate knowledge of techniques needed to advise the completion of effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function -based interventions, and Behavior Expectations Plans.
- Demonstrate knowledge in research based behavioral strategies and ability to implement them effectively

General Job Description:
Highly qualified specialist with knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals, groups and systems through the application of restorative practices and positive, preventive and responsive behavior supports. The ATS Specialist provides direct service through conflict coaching, mediations, restorative conferencing, and community service. The ATS Specialist also provides classroom consultations and coaching and supports school-wide behavior management systems and strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate conflict coaching, mediation, restorative conferences, and community service
- Provide leadership and direction at the school and district level, working to design, implement, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive tiered behavior support program.
- Advise staff on: defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; identifying and altering antecedents; teaching new behavior; and strategies for modifying behavior.
- Participate in team meetings with the identified student's teachers and parents for the purpose of completing a Functional Behavioral Assessment.
- Participate in team meetings that: provide consultative support in the development of behavior Interventions Plans; address classroom organization, effective instruction, social skills instruction, and ethical issues; School-wide Positive Behavioral Support; and factors that affect effectiveness including social validity and treatment integrity.
- Work cooperatively with building administrators to promote positive student behavior by providing professional development that targets research, strategies and modeling of instructional practices to support teachers in their implementation of positive behavior support in their classrooms.
- Engage in on-going professional development and coaching to increase knowledge and skills of positive student behavior support for all students, targeted students and students who represent subgroup populations.
- Work with teachers and staff on how to support effective communication with students, community building circles, responsive circles, conflict resolution, and mediation.
- Provide spaces to support continuing growth, self-reflection, and relationship-building among staff.
- Provide experiences, programming, consultation, and intervention to reduce suspensions, eliminate disproportionality in suspensions, improve school safety, culture, and climate, increase student participation and engagement, and support and foster relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
- Review, analyze, and inform staff on behavioral and suspension trends to guide systemic change, using data reports in Infinite Campus.
- Consult with school administration, social worker, counselors, psychologists and teachers
- Participate in the annual review process of the District Code of Conduct
- Other duties as assigned
