POSITION SUMMARY:

The Petroleum System Maintenance Technician assists with the operation and maintenance of fuel storage and distribution system to include bulk storage, supplementary storage, day tanks, and distribution systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and install gas dispensers, submersible pumps, UST/AST monitoring systems, various UST/AST Piping components
  • Assemble, and install AST’s for fuel and lubricant applications.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of fuel receiving, transport, storage and distribution.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and install tank truck pumping and registering systems.
  • Complete and prioritize work orders.
  • Adhere to all inventory and warehousing procedures.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on fuel systems projects to management.
  • Develop relationships with customers/prospects
  • Provide technical information to customers/prospects
  • Work with all company personnel in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork
  • Recognize and prioritize problems and requests as they arise
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each of the major duties satisfactorily. The requirements which follow are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required: Knowledge and experience operating Service Stations, including fuel storage tanks, operating and maintaining pumps, valves and valves. Strong time management, organizational skills, and interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional PC skills and working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other common programs used in a business setting. Ability to perform basic calculations and mathematical computations. Work with all company personal in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Solution based mindset with a high level of integrity and work ethic. Self-motivated with a positive and energetic attitude. Able to meet individual/team goals, targets and quotas. Understands and can execute a “can do” mentality in all interactions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent; basic understanding of the fuel and lubricant industry; knowledge of industrial, automotive, commercial, mining and construction industries is not required but a plus. Continued professional development on product and general skills education is a must.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Also, the ability to read and interpret documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to drive to various locations including; bank, post office, satellite locations, stores etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Noise level in the work environmental is normally moderate but can be loud. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors and exposure to hard weather may occur Most work will be performed during day time hours Monday – Friday, with occasional required nights, weekends and overtime. Travel required as necessary.
