Job Title: Preparation Plant Shift Supervisor II

Job Location: Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for directing the safe work practices of the Plant Maintenance Technicians and maintaining the plant equipment to achieve budgeted production requirements in accordance with all state, federal, and company regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Implement all safety and environmental policies and assures regulatory compliance. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company policies, rules, and regulations
- Plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate with Plant Manager on all production projects and with Maintenance Planner on all maintenance projects
- Supervise and provide direction to hourly employees
- Instruct employees in the proper performance of each task and advise them of any hazards
- Perform pre-shift inspections, test and monitor employees responsible for performing safety checks and tests
- Maintain the necessary records associated with plant functions
- Monitor supplies to keep adequate amounts of materials on hand and stored in an orderly manner to preclude unnecessary loss of and damage to materials.
- Communicate to management and other shifts any changes in the status of plant operations, which may have a potential impact on productivity. Prepare and deliver effective safety meetings
- Assure performance standards are maintained.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Monitor environmental compliance in accordance with company's environmental compliance plan
- Process and load product according to varying coal quality initiatives
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED
- 5 years of prep plant experience with 2 years of maintenance supervisory experience
- Must be excellent safety leader
- Proven safety and attendance record
- Proven leadership ability
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Computer Proficiency
