About this Opportunity:
The Production Manager is responsible for the hydraulic repair operation and facility. This entails leading, managing, and overseeing the light assembly operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and light mechanical systems and assemblies. Position requires leading and coordinating with the Production & Repair Coordinator to ensure material planning aligns with committed delivery schedules and creating production and staffing schedules for the production team. Duties include reporting to the local Sales Manager and Sales Team regarding production schedules and timelines. The incumbent leads a team of Repair Technicians and Power Unit Builders, and reports to and works with the Vice President of Manufacturing & Engineering.

Womack Group is headquartered in Farmers Branch, TX with additional offices in TX, UT, AL, AZ, MT, OK, MA, MI IN, IL, OH and Canada. This position will be based out of our Noblesville, IN facility.

Requirements
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the build of all hydraulic, lubrication, pneumatic and light mechanical systems at assigned location.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and assist the Engineering Department with the designs and layouts of the hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Some AutoCAD design work is required.
• Supervise the service and repair technicians to ensure their work meets or exceeds the standards of quality to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Guide and direct workflow activities for optimal productivity, ensuring employees operate efficiently and ethically in accordance with corporate policies and practices.
• Oversee inspection of products before and after repair work is completed to assist in identification of problem and satisfactory resolution.
• Ensure proper test and inspection procedures of work in process.
• Manage service and repair center staff, including interviews, selection, training and development, performance management, conflict resolution and, when necessary, disciplinary action or termination
• Assign and designate job duties to technicians according to their skill sets and capabilities.
• Establishes clear expectations holding employees accountable.
• Direct production activities prioritizing jobs according to the delivery schedules to ensure safety, quality, on-time delivery, and productivity goals are met.
• Support and make certain the Production Team and the Repair and Service Center complies with all health and safety regulations and procedures, as well as all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Support and ensure the Production Team is meeting all Safety, Quality and Budgetary requirements (Time and Money) keeping a clean and safe working environment and optimizing space utilization.
• Manage, motivate, and promote a positive teamwork environment leading by example with a “People First” attitude assisting co-workers and employees.
• Adheres to the management objectives and values of Womack Group and promotes a team environment with the highest level of employee satisfaction.
• Participate in regularly scheduled production meetings.
• Oversee and direct regular preventive maintenance and 5S housekeeping standards and procedures.
• Maintain, monitor, and react to key performance indicators (SPC’s) to anticipate issues prior to escalation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.
EDUCATION:
• BS in Engineering preferred but not required. HS Diploma will be considered with 3-5 years hydraulic and/or pneumatic experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a repair, manufacturing, or fabrication environment
• 3-5 years’ experience leading, managing, and supervising a team of production/technician personnel.
• Planning and coordinating production staffing to meet customer delivery requirements.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Understanding of maintenance and repair of in-plant equipment in industrial applications preferred.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic pumps, valves, and other applicable fluid management hardware preferred.
• Strong conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective correspondence, meetings, presentations, and workshops with all internal and external Customers.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills between engineering, production, and sales teams.
• Demonstrated desire and ability to achieve high levels of Customer satisfaction.
