What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, NICU position at Woman's?
As a Level III Regional Referral Center, Woman’s is part of a select group of hospitals in the nation who can provide quality care for the smallest and sickest babies. Our unit is designed to focus on intensive care, while encouraging family bonding. Our designation as a Level III Regional Referral Center means we have a neonatologist and anesthesiologist available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our caring team of neonatologists and specially trained nurses monitor the baby’s condition at all times by direct observation, and by using the latest specialized equipment and technology available. We also participate in the Vermont Oxford Quality Improvement Collaborative with 500 other NICUs across the country to keep abreast of the latest research and emerging practices that offer the best care for premature and critically ill babies.
We are looking for a professional role model that possesses effective communication skills and can be a resource to hospital personnel in their expertise. The Manager will need to assure the delivery of high-quality patient care through the utilization and application of the nursing process. This position requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required, a master's degree in nursing is preferred with a certification in the area of practice.
