We are looking for an outstanding German speaking UI Designer to work on our flagship automotive account, building out a design system for a suite of products that will change the way one of the worlds most prestigious car brands does business, day-to-day. Your work will touch the lives of tens of thousands of workers and change the buying behaviours of millions of customers.

You will have a demonstrated history of high quality user interface design, with great attention to detail. The ideal candidate has created promising work during their first few years. You have a good grasp of modern, cloud based design systems and have an exceptionally high attention to detail. Your work is water-tight, perfectly designed to make sure every single element shines.

You’re used to looking beyond the task at hand and taking a holistic view of your projects, getting the support of other team members proactively along the way. You’re a self-starter who doesn’t wait for solutions to arrive – you seek out the best solutions for the problems at hand. In fact, you’ve started to take on a bit more responsibility that goes beyond making things beautiful. Depending on the day, you might be leading a workshop, holding conversations with clients or helping the Product Owner figure out the backlog.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with a design system that scales across up to three products
• Crafting great user interface designs and interfacing with product development teams to support them on their journey
• Providing a first gate of quality control of the design systems and all its elements, helping development teams to get the best from the design system and minimising fixes
• Develop the core consultancy skills to interface directly and build trust the client, providing cohesive and appropriate recommendations
• Define, develop and defend their team's output, presenting concepts and deliverables in both internal and client working sessions
• Efficiently plan and estimate your own work with the support of a PO or Design Lead
• Participate in workshops and structured brainstorms
• Provide visual design as a consultancy and strategic insights to clients
• Reinforce WONGDOODY culture and values

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-4 years of experience, and a degree in a design related course. However, we are really excited to hear from applicants with a great attitude, work ethic and ambition to make a big difference with us
• Sketch, Invision, Principle, Zeplin, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Keynote, InDesign
• An incredible eye, with the ability to push work from good to ‘oh my days’ great
• Demonstrable experience of working with a design system
• Ability to craft and highly intuitive user interfaces, with a focus on quality control
• A confident, creative spark combined with killer design instinct
• A great understanding of our client’s brand, goals and needs
• A proactive, self starting attitude
• Professional working proficiency in English and German.

From September, we’ll come together every Tuesday to connect and collaborate; the rest of the week, if there’s no requirement to be in the studio, work from where you like within the UK.  

We'll continue to evolve the approach once we get into the swing of it, but we're confident we're starting from a good place.
